I walked for over 10000 steps almost daily starting July 2024 went from 285 lbs to 157 lbs in about a year. Also stopped eating late-night meals and fast food though.

At work we try to do 5 mins walking every hour and then a walk at lunch. It's fun to do with the 2 ppl in my office and it gets us moving a little every hour. I've been doing over 10k

10k steps is 4-5 miles. If ur going from sedentary to running or walking 4-5 miles a day…ur gunna lose a lot of weight either way.

What if you walk loads anyway? Or you are time limited? I mean I’m not trying to lose fat but walking 10,000 steps a day and strength training but must take AGES.

also, mentally and physically, walking is just easier. a bigger person is more likely to consistently walk every day than they are to run, because the psychological anxiety of being sore, tired, etc is enough to not even try.
