A few things I haven’t admitted about my vanlife journey…
🛠️ As much as I enjoyed the build journey, I spent way too much of it frustrated and pissed off that things weren’t going to plan
😅 On our off-grid European road trips we sometimes went 5 days without a shower
🏡 Between trips, I still live at home with my parents despite being nearly 30
👩🏼💻 Since going freelance, I sometimes worry that I’m going to miss out on progressing in my career without a stable job
🧳 I’ve still not learnt how to pack light and even when living in a van, I always bring so much more than I actually need
🌎 Vanlife has always been on my bucket list, but one of the reasons I built my campervan was to make travelling more accessible as someone with agoraphobia
So whilst building my campervan motivated me to pursue a life with more freedom, flexibility and time spent doing what I love, everything that comes with it isn’t perfect. There’s definitely a lot more to vanlife than pretty views and spontaneous adventures, but I still wouldn’t change it.
If you’re into van life, camping and outdoor adventures, welcome 🤍
