The Journal | GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller—My morning started—let’s say gleefully. Emily yelled from the living room that she was coming in. || Read this and more on Patreon (link in bio). || “Happy Halloween. Do something cute.” She had my Canon pointed at me. “I was going to put my leggings on first.” She looked around the room. “Are you even my sister? If you say you were going to wear shoes, I’m calling Officer Lopez and asking for help!” Okay… granted… How can you not smile when that kind of joy greets you first thing in the morning? It is Halloween, and the kids are all going to a party at church later. Geoni’s surprise Halloween outfits for Emily and Kel have yet to be unveiled. But before that, Dylan Cruz, the tutor we’re considering, is coming by to meet everyone. The school gave us his name and said he’s great, so we’re optimistic. Jason has gone to Walmart to get some things for dinner tonight. We’ve invited everyone to our condo for a casual paper-plate event. I’ll share more details about our plans for the evening later. It’s going to be a big day. My putzing around the condo and writing will probably be the least interesting part, but I’ll check in later. See you then! ~~ PLEASE HELP THE JOURNAL GROW: If you’d like to help AGI, please leave a comment, save this post, and share it. Your comments not only let me know what you think and give my day a lift, but they also help this post get shown to others who might like it. This look deserved another reel ❤️
ICE agent Mario Alberto Morales made his first court appearance Monday morning, days after being indicted on charges he allegedly assaulted a Mexican immigrant by running him over with his SUV. District Judge Matthew Peneguy informed Morales of his rights and set a bond at $30,0000. Prosecutors had sought a $75,000 bond. Morales was accompanied by three defense attorneys, including former Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. Click the link in our bio to read more. 📝: John Wayne Ferguson / reporter 📸: Brett Coomer / photographer
