Democrats have taken control of both chambers of Congress, the House and the Senate. So what does this mean for Trump? Midterm elections don't choose the President; they decide who controls Congress. Trump remains President until January 20, 2029, but he will no longer face a Congress controlled by his own party. Biggest shocks of the night: • Texas: Democrat James Talarico defeated Republican Ken Paxton, ending a 37-year Democratic Senate drought. • Michigan: Abdul El-Sayed won his Senate race, becoming the first Muslim senator in American history. • Trump claimed Republicans would have won by a landslide if he had been on the ballot. 3 major changes for Trump: 1. Laws and legislation: any major new law, tax cut or legislative proposal now faces much stronger opposition. Trump can veto, but he can't force Congress to approve his plans. 2. Money: Congress controls federal spending, so military budgets, defence spending, support for Israel and Iran-related funding will face much greater scrutiny. 3. Investigations and accountability: after the February 28 strikes on Iran without congressional authorisation, Democrats can now launch investigations, hold hearings, demand documents and scrutinise the administration. The limit: Trump is still Commander-in-Chief. Any bill restricting military operations or cutting funding could face his veto, and overriding it needs a two-thirds majority in both chambers. Do you believe our loved ones are still with us after death? Do you believe in signs? Has anything unexplainable ever happened to you? “Has your daughter visited you in your dreams? Have you received any signs?” "You need to look for the signs!" -This is what people say to me all the time. And suddenly, everything can become a sign. A feather, a butterfly, a song… And I understand why. Sometimes we just want something to hold on to. Anything that makes us feel like they’re still here with us, somehow. I’m trying too. I really, really want to believe. But I’m also a realist. I tend to look for a logical explanation for everything. I question things. I don’t automatically see everything as a sign, even though a part of me wishes I could. I wish I had unmistakable signs from my daughter. Something that would make me just KNOW she’s still with me💔 She hasn’t visited me in my dreams. Maybe twice since she passed away. And I can’t tell you how much I wish I could see her there more often. I pray for it every night. But this picture right here… I don’t know what to think. I don’t know if there’s an explanation for it. Maybe there is. Maybe there isn’t. But I can’t stop looking at it.
