Little update from us 🤍

We really thought this week might be baby week & it still may be if he decides to make his own entrance, which we’re really hoping he does 🥹💙

We mentioned on our stories last week that if baby boy did need to be brought out rather than coming spontaneously, a planned C-section rather than induction is the option we feel most comfortable with.

We rang the antenatal ward this morning with not having heard anything & were told that, although all of the consultants we’ve seen have advised delivery at 40 weeks due to this being an IVF pregnancy, there currently isn’t any space for a planned section this week.

We know some trusts don’t manage IVF pregnancies any differently, which does give us some peace of mind & means we’re not panicking about the delay. But equally, after being advised throughout that delivery around 40 weeks would be recommended, we do feel a little uneasy about going much beyond that when there are some small increased risks associated with doing so.

We’re now on a list in case any extra capacity becomes available, so if he doesn’t decide to come on his own this week, then it definitely won’t be Wednesday like we’d thought.

Hol has had two sweeps so far & has another this afternoon, so we’ll keep you updated with any changes 🥰

The exact same thing happened to me. I was advised by my OB that with IVF she wouldn’t want me over 39 weeks. Said that for weeks. Then this changed I feel due to her scheduled and inducted booked at 39+3. Only for the day prior for my Fiance to get RSV and he was so sick. Induction cancelled for a week. My induction ended up been 40+3 in the end. I had the same worries so completely understandable. Sending hugs your way x

You do right not having an induction, I hated the whole thing and I had everything over the 4 days and it still didn't work. Unfortunately it ended in an emergency c section at 42 weeks. Xxx

I had a similar situation where my consultant advised a planned c-section between 39-40 weeks but they were fully booked and offered me a slot where I would have been 42 weeks! 😮 My consultant told them it wasn’t good enough and that they needed to bring me forward, I was also put on a waiting list and then around 5 days later they called me with a new date where I was 39+6…and it all went to plan and Seth was born on that day. Keep nagging them and ask your midwife to chase it up and hopefully you will get a sooner date (if he doesn’t come before then). Wishing you all the very best, he will soon be here safe and sound 🫶🏽 xxx
