After 16 month and 1,150.2 miles ran @_crystal_powell was able to complete her first marathon in 3:42 (8:23 mile pace) and absolutely crush her goal time of sub 4 hours.
So many impressive moments in this one race by Crystal. The marathon is so hard on the body and on the mind and she showed discipline and composure in both aspects. Crystal came out hard finishing the first 13.1 miles with 7 min under her goal time. She was able to keep her foot on the gas and finish the second 13.1 miles nearly 3 min faster than the first half. The most impressive feat by far was the last 3 miles. Most marathoners are cramping, crawling or holding on for dear life to the finish line. Crystal was able to run her last 3 miles under 8 min pace and pass a ton of fading competitors to finish the race. Crystals 3 fastest miles of the marathon were mile 24, 25, and 26 an absolutely amazing display of heart and ability❤️
