This morning in North Hollywood, an ICE agent pulled a gun on someone filming an arrest — which involved them dragging someone across the concrete. The ICE agent shoved the person filming into a hedge and raised the gun to his face; @disko_d shared video of the incident. Also: HSI, the investigative branch of ICE, is involved in an ongoing attempt by the Department of Justice to block Los Angeles from counting the ballots of thousands of people whose right to vote the DOJ has called into question. Last night they issued subpoenas to multiple election officials, setting up a hearing for the morning after Election Day. The LA City Council won’t be meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday next week, so today’s meeting — a few hours after the gun incident in NoHo — was the council’s last chance to do (or even say!) something to help the city as we barrel toward an uncertain future. Here’s how it went.
