I’ve always loved a good headline!!
Catching up on my posts after a busy start to the fall (so stay tuned for more).
Milken Institute’s first Global Dialogues in Toronto brought together global investors, business leaders and policymakers at an important moment for Canada.
As
@milkeninstitute’s first Senior Fellow for Canada, it was great to welcome their global network of investors to Toronto. Taking place alongside PM
@markjcarney ‘s Investment Summit, Global Dialogues put Canada’s investment potential in the spotlight, connecting Canadian businesses with international capital.
Canada has a compelling investment opportunity: world-class talent, energy, critical minerals, AI, technology, strong institutions and access to global markets. But attracting investment means turning these advantages into investable projects, with the certainty and conditions that allow capital to move. And Canada is ready!
What excites me most is what this means for Canadian companies. We have innovative, export-ready mid-market businesses with enormous potential that need capital to scale. With access to 1.5 billion consumers through Canada’s free trade agreements — and growing to 3 billion as new agreements are concluded — these companies can grow globally, create good jobs at home and keep their headquarters and economic value in Canada.
Thank you to @milkeninstitute ‘s awesome team for making our first Global Dialogues in Toronto possible and to Brett James, CEO of
@worldviewadvisory, my collaborator in bringing @milkeninstitute to Canada and building stronger connections to its global network.
We continued the momentum to Milken’s Asia Summit in Singapore, showcasing Canada’s investment opportunities to Asian investors and connecting global capital with Canadian projects, strategic partnerships and international growth. More on Singapore in my next post!
