FASHION VICTIM: A Paddington woman has spoken of her distress after footage from the French riots showed looters leaving luxury stores with designer handbags identical to hers.
Mother-of-two Sophie Whitmore-Reddings says she first became concerned when friends sent her the footage, asking: “Isn’t that your bag?”
“I spent $4,200 on that,” she told 7 News. “I just never imagined I’d have the same handbag as someone who throws bricks at police.”
Ms Whitmore-Reddings says she’ll stop carrying the bag for now, switching to other designer brands that weren’t targeted by looters.
When asked about the broader political and social implications of the riots, she told DBT she hasn’t been following that side of the story.

Yeah, you wouldn’t wanna have the same bag as someone who didn’t have to pay for it. That’s one of the most pathetic things I’ve heard in a long time. Probably should keep that kind of feeling to yourself.
