Your LUT isn't broken. Your color management is.

I read about 70 filmmaker questions on Reddit. A dozen had the same root cause, and it wasn't the LUT.

The symptoms looked different: a desaturated Edit page, LUTs behaving like they've lost their minds, Red C-Log3 footage that looks flat, and a CST node that nobody understands.

Different symptoms. One root cause: the wrong or missing input color space.

Resolve can't guess your camera's language. You have to tell it. Canon EOS R5 C: set the input to C-Log3. Pocket 6K Pro: set it to Blackmagic Film. Get that right, and your LUT suddenly behaves.

Before you blame the LUT next time, check what Resolve thinks your footage is. Which camera or log format has given you the most trouble? Drop it below and save this for your next grade. 🎬
