The imamate royals were Zaydi rulers while the republican Gamal supported in the south were sunni. The saudi and their allies had no issues with Shia in Yemen at the time because they were royalists.

Jordan was created by Great Britain. There's a case to be made that this is all happening because of Britain. The Haavara Agreement of 1933 explains Steohen Miller's position too. The Balfour Declaration could be the genesis of everything as well.

Most concerning the Suez Canal, Sudan has always been playing the tail of Egypt for the Arab world, when it should be as my Father puts it the lion head of Africa.
