This week on @drlouisenewsonpodcast, @menopause_doctor is joined by maternal mental health advocate @jadealloyd to discuss her experience of postpartum psychosis and the role hormones may play in mental health after childbirth.

Following her daughter's birth, Jade experienced anxiety, intrusive thoughts and suicidal feelings before developing psychosis and being admitted to a mother and baby unit. Yet throughout her treatment, hormones were never discussed.

Louise reflects on women she's treated who experienced mental health difficulties after childbirth and wished they'd understood more about their hormones and treatment options sooner.

At Newson Clinic, we're here to listen and help you explore your hormone health and treatment options.
