🔥💔 THE STAR WAS BORN 💔🔥
One year ago, we danced to “Is That Alright?” by Lady Gaga. That dance became a very special memory for us , a moment when we could put so much of what we felt into movement. ❤️
One year later, we chose to dance to it again. This time, at the first edition of our own Amsterdam World Dance Congress.
The same song. The two of us. And a whole new meaning.
Creating this festival was one of the biggest steps of our lives. We put so much of ourselves into it: our hopes, our time, our endless conversations, and all those decisions that kept us awake at night. We cared so deeply because we wanted to create something people would feel , a place where you could arrive from anywhere in the world and feel welcome, connected, and happy to be there.
And then you came. You filled the rooms, danced together, supported each other, and gave life to something we had spent so long imagining.
Dancing this song again, surrounded by all of you, meant more than we can easily explain.
To our core crew, our volunteers, our teachers, artists, DJs, partners, and every person who joined us: thank you. Thank you for trusting us, for caring with us, and for giving so much of yourselves. We know how much work happened behind the scenes, how tired some of you were, and how you kept showing up with love anyway. We will carry that with us.
The film is called A Star Is Born. And looking at what we created together this weekend, we feel we can say:
A star was born. ✨
Our first Amsterdam World Dance Congress , brought to life by all of you.
