In the UK, we’ve got a habit. Someone does well, and the knives come out. Tall poppy syndrome. I see it in the veteran community and the outdoor industry. I’ve probably been guilty of it myself. Building @thrudark , I’ve heard every version: “Too expensive.” “Too many influencers.” “Lost its roots.” Here’s my answer. Price. Kit that works at 8,000 metres isn’t cheap to make. We’d rather build it right than build it cheap. Creators. Yes, we work with them. Climbers, adventurers, fighters, veterans. People who put the miles in. You can rent reach with paid ads. We’d rather earn it… Roots. We were built by two blokes who did the job, and we still test kit where it matters. And together with our community and Mission Everest, we’ve raised over £460,000 for veterans’ and children’s charities. Criticism keeps you honest. But nobody gets lifted up by tearing someone else down. “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” Try not to be a dog. DBAC. Love many. Trust few. Who’s someone in your world quietly putting the miles in? Tag them below. They might just get some kit… #Leadership #Veterans #Outdoors #DBAC

British workers are increasingly disengaged from their jobs and have become less willing to go the extra mile to help their employer, according to a survey that lends substance to claims that productivity has suffered from a wave of so-called ‘quiet quitting’ in the aftermath of the pandemic. One-in-four workers were not even ‘fairly’ satisfied with their main job — the gloomiest in the survey’s 35-year history and up from one in five when the question was last asked in 2015. Tap the link in our bio to read more. Photo credit: Toby Melville/Reuters Image description: Commuters cross London Bridge during morning rush hour, with City of London skyscrapers visible in the background.
