A hypothetical map of Talarico’s path to victory tonight.

Dems see a massive opportunity tonight to win a Senate election for the first time since 1988 and 1994 for any statewide office.

If polls over the past few months are accurate, most have suggested that Talarico is ahead.

A lot of Talarico’s optimal prospects is due to Paxton being perceived as subpar due to past legal issues and discontent among the establishment GOP especially incumbent John Cornyn, whom Paxton ousted massively in the May runoff.

To be succinct, Talarico is essentially mandated to win Collin County (Trump +11.1) at the minimum, and if he wins Denton County (Trump +13.1) he is practically near certain to defeat Paxton.

Collin and Denton were once ultra-red suburban counties until the Obama era, where Reps started attaining <70%; then, when Trump emerged, Reps started attaining in the low to mid-50s. Their rapid leftward shifts are attributed to exponential growth along with significant diversification.
