I gave my little cousin a bunch of old Pokémon cards and now his father doesn't want him playing with them at all because "they're collectables". I fucking hate what social media did to pokemon cards man; his kid isn't even 10 yet wtf.

I was ready to give up Pokémon cards, I brought them over to my parents to give some to my little brother and the way that kids face lit up. All he wants are the strongest, highest health and damage cards and EX Pokémon and he doesn’t care it’s “worth .56 cents” he thinks ‘Latos’ and ‘Manlecetric’ are cool as hll. I looked at cards different after that. I now collect just my favorites

I had conversation like this once at a store that had old comic books in boxes. A random guy asked me if I was looking for something and I mentioned a specific title. He immediately asked about the monetary value of said comic series.
