six months ago, i woke up to a bald spot on the top of my head and what a six months it’s been 🫪

i knew what alopecia was, but i didn’t think it was something that would affect me. i didn’t think i’d be buying rogaine at 28, or getting steroid injections in my head to try to grow my hair back. i didn’t think about how much i valued my hair until half of it was gone, and i never thought i’d be the first one in my family to go (partially) bald. i’m incredibly thankful to my people and those who have helped me navigate alopecia, especially @katelyntaca (@kastle.co 💇🏻‍♀️) and the community of @pieces_asjwa! being able to talk about it and be ~vulnerable~ on the internet wouldn’t be possible without their support.

it’s slowly coming back with the help of some meds (and no more shots to da dome🤞🏽) but if you see me partially bald or giving a chia pet vibe, now you know why! 🪩
