If Democrats had spent much of President Donald Trump’s second term searching for a way to break his grip on Washington, voters had now handed them one. The midterms generated a blue wave that swept Republicans out of power in the House and the Senate, reversing the party’s fortunes just two years after Trump’s return to the White House. The results amounted to a decisive rebuke of a President whose handling of the economy, rising prices, and the war with Iran had fueled widespread discontent, and who spent the closing days of the campaign musing about candidates’ anatomy and dismissing Americans’ concerns over their bottom line.

For the first time since Trump returned to Washington, Democrats will be able to set the legislative agenda, compel testimony from Administration officials, investigate allegations of corruption, and force Republicans to take difficult votes. Party leaders see an opportunity to turn the public’s discontent with Trump into a sustained argument for returning Democrats to the White House in 2028.

Interviews with more than two dozen Democratic leaders, strategists, and members of Congress reveal a party itching to fight on nearly every front the President has opened. But when the midterm victory laps conclude, the Democrats’ deeper problems will be waiting for them. Even leading up to their midterm victory, surveys showed the party remains unpopular. Its leaders are divided over how far left to move, what kind of economic message will win back the voters who abandoned them in 2024, and how aggressively to confront Trump.

De mai bine de patru ani locatarii blocului P5 din cartierul Grui sunt terorizați de o doamnă, proprietara unui apartament din bloc, care a umplut casa cu peste 30 de pisici. În casă locuiește și fiica dumneaei, care este în evidența DAS ca persoană cu dizabilități.

Am făcut sute de solicitări către instituțiile abilitate pentru a ne sprijini să putem intra în casă pentru a ne asigura că atât doamna cât și fiica sunt sănătoase și în siguranță. Vecinii au anunțat în repetate rânduri că mirosul de urină și fecale de animale este insuportabil și că în apartament se aud frecvent certuri. Noi ne-am deplasat de zeci de ori la fața locului, însă proprietara a refuzat să deschidă ușa.

Astăzi am reușit să facem acest lucru împreună cu poliția animalelor, poliția municipală, pompierii, SMURD, Ambulanță, poliția locală și cu ADP.

Celor două femei li s-a acordat asistență medicală după ore de certuri și circ. Poliția animalelor a ridicat pisicile aflate într-o stare deplorabilă (subnutrite, murdare și bolnave) iar ADP a scos din apartament patru remorci cu cârpe, haine și covoare putrede din cauza dejecțiilor.

Mulțumesc tuturor pentru implicare! Mă tem însă că acțiunea de amploare de astăzi nu reprezintă și rezolvarea acestui caz. Având în vedere că vorbim despre o proprietate privată este foarte posibil ca doamna să-și reia obiceiurile. Din păcate legea nu îmi oferă pârghii pentru a nu aștepta cu anii să scapi de un focar de infecție.

Mă încăpățânez să fac tot ce este omenește posibil și legal pentru a sprijini cetățenii.
