E6 slide film refers to colour reversal film processed using the E6 chemical process, which produces positive transparencies directly on the film rather than negative images.

Unlike colour negative film like C-41 process; E-6 film creates a positive image that can be viewed by holding it up to light or projecting it as a slide.
