Thank you GlenOak Cross Country for the past 6 years of my life 🦅💚💛

And the biggest thank you to my parents who supported me every single Saturday morning no matter the weather ❤️

I am eternally grateful for this sport and the people that it's brought me close with

I will not miss the 80° workouts or the pre-race nerves, but I will definitely miss skipping every single long and free run and having a team to call home 🫶

Growing up in a Chicago suburb, @reemashihadeh did what many third-culture children do as they traverse from one ethnic nucleus to another: conform. At school, she’d ask her sister to slick her curly hair back into a sleek, straight bun in an attempt to hide her texture. She understood, even as a kid, that she looked different than her peers. But back in Palestine, where she’d spend the summers with her extended family picking figs from their trees and laughing, playing cards into the late hours of the night, she felt like herself.
