Meet Brian Gebby, a proud Buckeye who got his start in start-ups at CAR!
“When Time Warner Cable company donated the building (current CAR) to Ohio State, I was working part-time in the Gear Lab for Professor Donald Houser, the first chair of CAR. I was also a member of Professor Rizzoni's first electric vehicle racing team, Formula Lightning. The roof leaked in some places and some of the rooms needed a lot of sprucing up but it felt like joining a startup company. You could feel that great things were going to happen there!”
Gebby recently transitioned into the defense industry, but his most recent project he can say was the Jeep Wrangler Hybrid 4xe!
“CAR has no limits to what you can accomplish. Walk the halls, read the research and meet the people in the student projects back building. Leave your comfort zone behind and jump into research that pushes you farther than you expected. Do the hard work of writing the grant proposals and presenting your ideas and research.”
