Around 100 cops, including women officers, gathered outside the Delhi Police headquarters on Monday morning to protest against the transfer of two policemen following a confrontation between police and lawyers at the Shahdara police station. Holding placards and posters, the protesting police personnel demanded that Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manasvi Vashistha and Shahdara Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Arun Kumar be reinstated to their previous postings. The controversy stems from a scuffle between police and lawyers in the police station in which an advocate was injured. After lawyers called an indefinite strike, the ACP and the inspector were transferred. The lawyers then called off their protest.
