☠️🏯🇯🇵The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji is the definitive Japanese locked room murder mystery.
It is inspired by the Golden Age mystery classics, particularly Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None.
A group a mystery club students travel to the remote island of Tsunojima to stay for a week at the location of a mass murder. They sleep in the Decagon House and are picked off one by one. The remaining members fight each other and their growing paranoia to work to solve the mystery of which of them is the killer.
This is a must read for lovers of the genre. It was a gripping, entertaining experience but it doesn’t reach the genius of Christie’s And Then There Were None, in my humble opinion. 🗝️
