Being a bridal designer, one of the biggest pressures I’ve faced is making my own wedding dress. It took me over a year to decide what I wanted to look like and what would suit my personality and style. It was 2 weeks before my wedding that I finally settled on a design I felt wouldn’t compromise how I wanted to look but also infused uniqueness and individuality into my day. Making my own wedding gown is a gift from God and I don’t take it lightly. My sisters @yolanthefawehinmi and @thekia.o.f supported me at every point, even learning how to do couture dress making techniques. And my beautiful mum @mamateesdrinks who encouraged and supported me through the entire process. Our final fitting was just days before the wedding in Portugal. And the dress finished on the day of my wedding 🥹. I’m blessed to be able to create and allow the gift God has given me to also be infused into my own special day. My dad @lawrencefawehinmi @lafhair dreamed of buying me my wedding gown, so he got all of my fabrics for me and I can’t thank him enough ♥️ what a dream come true. My gown was made in the finest @pongeessilks silk Dutches which offered stability, yet a subtle sheen that looked effortless and soft. Accented with a beautiful corded and beaded lace from our turkey supplier. Throughout the day the fabric moved and moulded to my body and movement. Ceasing and folding in the right places, as fabric should. I’m beyond grateful that I got to marry the person of my dreams, with the wedding of my dreams, in a dress that is completely unique to me. The beauty of custom is that you can have something no one else has ever had, I always urge brides to stop looking at trends and draw from who you really are. My dress did exactly that for me. Of course I can’t forget to thank my beautiful glam team @indiakmakeup and @mkk.lux who were not only the kindest and most attentive women, but executed everything flawlessly. I also have to thank @newman.classics for creating the most intriguing and detailed tuxedo for my husband. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world 🤍🥹
We made history. 🇵🇸
The east or the west end, you end up in the best end. 🖤 ( Dame Shirley Bassey was not wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️) Twenty five summers/winters in London later, here are a few things i never tire of.. ( mostly food ) - Cooking the best Vongole - @boisdale_restaurants live jazz and wine nights - @devonshiresoho scallops - crisp afternoons perfect for a cheeky selfie - Pillowy, flaky salt sprinkled bread and the best butter in town, again at @devonshiresoho - My 30th/31st time watching The Phantom Of the Opera so an espresso martini was in order - @libertylondon needs no introduction - just the best - A moment of appreciation for 2 minutes of sunlight lol ( A rare sight in London ) - @brasseriezedel my favourite escargot, oysters and crème brûlée. More like home than a restaurant now! - A gorgeous Milanese, crumbed to perfection - The oceans best, dinner.. @sancarlo_cicchetti - A dirty martini and my favourite.. gorgeous Irish rock oysters - A sublime take on the Alfredo. This one was with truffle - Mornings - Can’t ever have enough oysters - Quiet corners at Boisdale Belgravia - more truffle cream in and on ravioli - marrow, baked camembert and escargot
Whispers of forever🏵️✨
🚨 @kirkfranklin weighs in on the 30-year-old argument surrounding the colonized ideology of the church and how it impacts the creation of gospel music. If you can come as you are in the church, why can’t gospel musicians have the same freedoms? 🎶 Tap in as Kirk breaks down how he continues to create music his way!
