• GB ROCS! Three Perspectives on Greater Boston’s Regional Offsite Construction Strategy •

Professor @ivan_rupnik will be moderating a discussion on the innovations enabling and accelerating offsite construction in and around Greater Boston - where things stand, and where they’re headed. The conversation will start with recent national developments, then turn to three speakers, each building a local tool with national implications.

First, Adam Ploetz of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), on MAPC’s Greater Boston Regional Offsite Construction Strategy (GB ROCS), now midway through its six-year development process. Then Vikas Enti, CEO of Reframe Systems, who recently opened the company’s first microfactory in Billerica. And finally Paige Roosa, Director of the City of Boston’s Housing Innovation Lab, on the Welcome Home Boston program.

Prof. Rupnik has asked each speaker to level-set in two ways: how their tool differs from the more familiar version of it - a regional plan, a factory, a housing program - and what their local innovation means for the national housing conversation.

Presentations will be followed by a discussion among the speakers, then an open Q&A.

Free and open to the public. No registration required.
