From the thin-planked maple floors to the deep window sills and beautifully patinated original doors, I adored the character of our last home, a 1916 Prairie-style two-story.

Our new home couldn’t be more different, but little by little, we’re layering in traditional charm and timeless appeal. I’m having a ball bringing in color and pattern, and with each step, our new-construction house is feeling a little more lived-in, a little more loved, and a much more like home.
