The weekly schedule I used to build my creator business alongside a full-time job for 2 years (although to be clear, it took me a while to figure it out!)

The BIGGEST unlock for saving time so I could focus on creativity was outsourcing editing and admin. I’ve gone through a lot of freelancers and agencies and this is the one I current use to hire editors/assistants!

Comment “NEXUS” and I’ll send you the link to find an editor or assistant for your business (make sure you’re following or IG blocks my msg!)

1️⃣ Sunday: plan + script (2 hours)
Put brand deadlines on the calendar first, then choose the organic ideas for the week. Write several scripts together and note the screenshots or B-roll each one needs.

2️⃣ Thursday: batch film (2 hours)
Have your scripts ready before you turn the camera on. Film back-to-back with the same lighting and setup so you have a batch to send to your editor.

3️⃣ Friday: handoff + review (1 hour)
Organize the footage with its script and visual references. Review the edits that are back, leave specific comments, and approve captions before anything gets scheduled.

Throughout the week, I keep a running list of ideas. A question someone asks, something I tried at work, an idea from a conversation. By Sunday, I have material to work with.

What does your editor do exactly? How much time is it saving you? How much does it cost?

THIS. So many content creator "strategies" assume you have an editor, a VA, a videographer, and a ring light setup. 😂 Can we get a realistic plan for the person doing ALL of it from their phone between pickups and client calls? I'd love to see a series for the solopreneur who is the creator, editor, scheduler, AND the CEO.

A five-hour week that actually accounts for a full-time job is rare — most schedules like this quietly assume you have open days. The Sunday planning plus scripting split is the part I'd steal; it makes the rest of the week feel doable instead of aspirational.
