Every surgeon finishes training qualified. Not every surgeon keeps getting better.
Chefs, pilots, surgeons: anyone who does something for a living can repeat what they were taught for the rest of their career.
The ones worth trusting look back at their last 20 cases and ask what could be better. Sometimes the change works. Sometimes it’s a terrible idea and you go back.
That process of reviewing, adjusting, and paying attention is where real experience comes from.
When you’re choosing a surgeon, years in practice only matter if they were spent refining.
