Excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at Topographies through this beautiful short film captured by
@walleyfilms, documenting the process of bringing this project to life.
Topographies is a permanent public art installation commissioned by
@united through
@houstonartsalliance for the newly opened Terminal B North at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.
Inspired by Houston’s bayou network and the landscapes that surround it, Topographies is a luminous, undulating field of color and light. Drawing from the greens of bayou trails, seasonal flowers, and the soft blues and pinks of the city’s expansive sky, the work translates these ecological rhythms into an immersive surface that echoes water currents, growth patterns, and atmospheric light.
Rather than depicting these landscapes literally, the artwork abstracts their textures and movements, allowing imagery to shift between recognition and abstraction as viewers move through the space. The installation offers a moment of calm within the continuous motion of travel.
