Today, we’re sharing another great Halloween read!
In this spellbinding modern fairy tale, when townsfolk want to collect wood in the forest across the river, Leina is the one who takes them. But, one day, her passenger doesn’t appear for his return trip. Leina worries. She’s heard the forest is haunted. That some who go in never come out. So, when someone finally signals for a boat on the riverbank, Leina is relieved. Only, it isn’t Oren, the missing passenger. It’s a strange toad. Could this odd creature know something about the mystery of the missing townspeople?
Children will be enthralled by this richly imagined tale about a forest’s secrets — and its secret keepers!
