I always took pride in being a kind, caring, compassionate, loving soul. It was, and still is at the core of my values, my authentic self, with my pride in standing tall in my integrity. I will always strive to be that.
However, I have also been guilty of sacrificing myself in order to keep or save connections with others that was slipping away. This was not healthy for me as I was putting myself last. I wasn't honouring myself in my self worth, self love, and self respect.
I worked hard in my healing, really honouring and loving myself. I no longer allow anything that is not serving me, dysregulating my nervous system, not valuing me, not honouring my needs, and draining my energy. I stand firm in my boundaries.
I am always open to repair of these situations and connectios, but that would depend on the other person doing their work and stepping up...and that is not my responsibility or in my control. So I remain in my beautiful way of being, for others to enjoy...until it is taken for granted or not deserved. It can come back, but only if value of it is shown in consistent effort.
