On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you that the 49ers will beat The Raiders?

Another year older! 🥳🎂💙

And I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my birthday!

After weeks deep in the Congo Basin, it feels extra special to be back home in London, safe and sound, celebrating with the people who mean the most to me.

Spent the day with my beautiful fiancée, and to top it all off, my parents travelled down from North Wales to surprise me! 🥹❤️

After all the adventures, challenges and wild places this world has taken me, it’s moments like these that remind me just how special home and family really are.

Feeling incredibly lucky, grateful and excited for another year of life and adventure! And location 2 of Project 6 is just around the corner, so I’m truly soaking this up 🌍💙

The standards are on the floor

Your triggers reveal where you’re not free. What someone says or does to upset you may expose an underlying belief you have about yourself. So today I'm going to tell you about seven common triggers and what they may reveal.

1. Criticism. You believe your worth depends on being good enough or competent.

2. Rejection. You believe you need other people’s acceptance to feel worthy.

3. Being ignored. You rely on external validation to feel like you’re enough.

4. Losing control. You believe you can’t feel safe or at peace unless life goes your way.

5. Someone crosses your boundaries. You may struggle to assert your needs and prioritize yourself.

6. Someone else’s success. You measure your worth by comparing yourself to others.

7. Someone disagrees with you. Your identity is attached to being right.

Here’s the thing: It’s not just what someone says or does. It’s what you make it mean about you.

If someone can destroy your peace simply by ignoring you or disagreeing with you, your peace is still dependent on their behavior.

And if someone else’s opinion determines how you feel about yourself, you’ve given them power over your inner world.

Your triggers reveal where you’ve handed your freedom to someone else.

And those are precisely the places where your work begins.

Because the more you recognize that your worth isn’t determined by what other people think, say, or do, the less power they have to disturb your peace.

That’s what freedom looks like.

So if you want to be less triggered and experience more freedom, DM me today to begin your healing journey.

I FINALLY FOUND IT.

For the last six months, I’ve been searching through storage for the original 1997 National Enquirer article about me coming out.

And today, there it was.

I was 21 years old, and the Enquirer had made it clear they were going to run a story about my sexuality whether I participated or not. So I made the decision to speak for myself.

Seeing the actual article again almost 30 years later is surreal.

And here’s something I had forgotten: all things considered, it’s actually pretty heartfelt.

Yes, the headline is enormous and very 1997. But the story talks about the support I received from my family, Tony Danza and Judith Light, and even includes a message about courage and coming out from Chaz Bono.

It’s wild to think how short the list of openly gay public figures still was in 1997, and how many people would come out publicly in the years that followed.

That doesn’t change how complicated it was to have something so personal become national news before I was ready for it to happen on my own terms. But reading it now, I can also see a 21-year-old me trying to take control of a situation I hadn’t chosen and say, “If this story is going to be told, I want my voice in it.”

And I’m kind of proud of him for that.

And a little thank you to @therealchazbono too. Seeing those words of support sitting beside my story nearly 30 years later means more to me now than I probably understood at the time. ❤️

Almost 30 years later, I finally have the actual piece of history back in my hands.

Still gay. Still here. And very grateful that today, I get to decide how my story is told.
