🇪🇺 One week ago in Strasbourg, the Global Dialogue on power opened the Europa Power Conference 2026.

On 21 October, representatives of more than 30 think tanks, foundations and universities from across the world came together to explore a central question: how can we understand and exercise power in an era of growing systemic rivalry and artificial intelligence?

With an opening address by Benjamin Haddad, the Dialogue was chaired by Antonio Vitorino, with Bahadır Kaleağası serving as General Rapporteur.

Bringing together perspectives from Europe, North and South America, Asia, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, the forum centred on three key questions:
🔹How should power be understood and defined in the second quarter of the 21st century?
🔹Is systemic rivalry inevitable?
🔹How can power serve global common goods?

These questions framed a wider reflection on the role of collective action in strengthening the multilateral system and shaping a sustainable, positive and responsible vision of European power.

For EuropaNova, this meeting marked a first step in a long-term initiative to deepen cooperation and build a broader international network of think tanks.

📸 Looking back in pictures at the conversations and encounters that launched our conference.

Thank you to all our speakers, participants and partners for bringing their perspectives to this dialogue.
