¡Sí Se Puede! ✊🏽❤️
Today, we honor a true legend, an icon, and a woman whose life’s work helped shape generations of Latino families and communities.
I had the privilege of meeting Dolores Huerta many years ago while serving as Parade Director for the East Los Angeles Mexican Independence Day Parade. It was an honor to cross paths with someone who dedicated her life to fighting for dignity, justice, equality, and opportunity for our people.
Just recently, we had the honor of recognizing her at our Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA Heart of the Family event. Although she wasn’t feeling well enough to join us, her presence and legacy were deeply felt.
Dolores didn’t just fight for change. She inspired generations to believe they could be part of that change.
Her legacy is our responsibility now. To keep showing up, lifting each other up, opening doors, and fighting the good fight for our families and the generations still to come.
Gracias, Dolores, for everything you gave our community. Your impact will live on through all of us who continue the work.
¡Sí Se Puede! Siempre. ❤️✊🏽
