🎬 SPI Polar Film Series #SPI10thAnniversary
Join us on 12 November at @ethzurich for a screening of “TEREKTY – An Expedition into the Value of Glaciers”, a documentary by @patrick_barylla and @rienerschnitzel following a remote expedition to Kyrgyzstan and exploring glacier retreat in the Tian Shan mountains.
Led by @expedition.xplore and supported by Kyrgyz partners, the field team collected drone-based 3D data and glacier surface samples in the Tien Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan where our VAW Glaciology group (ETH / @wslresearch @dbaug.ethz ) has been studying glaciers and their evolution. Combining expedition footage, interviews and scientific insights, the film explores ongoing glacier change and its implications for future water availability.
Following the screening, join us for a discussion with researchers, filmmakers and expedition members involved in the project, followed by an aperitif and networking.
