Three weeks ago we did the hardest hike we’ve done yet.
9 miles.
10 hours.
3800 feet elevation gain.
Three peaks across the mountain ridge.
About half of the hike was rock scrambling.
And then going down.
Enduring the physical challenge to get to the pinnacle and see the most gorgeous Peak Fall Foliage is a source of tremendous pride. But you know what was almost harder than going up? Going down.
As I’ve had more time to think about it, I’m proud of us. I’m proud we keep doing things that expand what we think we are capable of.
In seasons, we all have the hard.
What has stayed with me from this experience……I may forget what it took to get there and back, but I’ll never forget how worth it was when I remember the feeling of seeing that view. And getting to do it with My Love, made it all the sweeter.
