Last week, at our Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA Heart of the Family event, we had the honor of celebrating the legendary Dolores Huerta. ❤️
Today, we learned of her passing, and this celebration carries an even deeper meaning.
As a proud board member who helps bring this event to life every year, I’m especially grateful that we had the opportunity to honor a woman who dedicated her life to fighting for dignity, justice, equality, and the rights of working families.
Dolores was more than an icon. She was a voice for our community, a trailblazer, and a reminder that change happens when we stand together.
Her legacy lives on through all of us who continue to fight the good fight, uplift our communities, and open doors for the next generation.
¡Sí se puede! ✊🏽❤️
Rest in power, Dolores. Your legacy will live on.
