Autism Awareness

When my son told me what he wished for I just stopped. I looked at him and said baby your brain is perfect. And then I started crying.

And then HE started crying. Not because he was sad about his brain. Because I was crying. Because that is who he is.

He ended up comforting me. My son who wished for a different brain spent his birthday moment making sure his mama was okay.

I told him mommy is crying because of how incredible and perfect and amazing you are exactly as you are.

I don’t think he fully believed me yet. But one day he will.

And I will keep telling him.
