Either the city buy an orchard an out social workers and guards and security in place and get the homeless off the streets to work in the orchard under constant supervision either paid or voluntary operation to teach and care about the homeless that arrive in Vernon as they are being angry and causing harm to our community and harmless individuals.

We need someone to give of their orchard occupation and instruction of operation to production. By homeless people in need of work and structure in their lives.

Homelessness people in Vernon are abusing other people. It has affected my family who minds their own business. Three times recently my son and son in law had suffered attacks. Black eyes. Broken bones and ribs, broken noses and cut up by homless yielding a knife. Something has to be done. We should be able to walk on the streets here with safety. No one should be beating up people that are out for a walk or coming home after going to the store or gas station. Three times I was asked for spare change outside the bank upon leaving. One woman threatened me and told me that I was lying that I didn’t have money to give her.

This would be a positive enhancement of the homeless that are sent here from other places. They would need to go here first upon arrival in Vernon .

I saw it done in Italy. It is the best possible lifestyle for the homeless who come from all walks of life of abuse. Drugs use and alcohol and physical disrespect. They learn to appreciate themselves , respect others and learn social skills and are able to become employable and are given many skills learned to be able to go back into society in the community and be functional and have lasting careers .

What is Vernon doing to help the homeless? My suggestion is to use an orchard for the homeless to work and live in accommodations on the orchard where they can learn skills like irrigation , plumbing , picking fruit and canning and also cooking for crews and operation of an orchard from start to finish . Creating skills for furthering education and employment outside in the community after living in the orchard until ready to return to productivity free from drugs Alcohol and abuse through social and mental help from within the orchard supplied with security and help dealing with each other in the operation of a functioning orchard from every thing needed to be functional staying at the orchard learning fencing. Carpentry. Pruning and an all year round commitment. When the homeless person is brought there they have to help others that are brought in to adapt until they have become able to return to the community free of problems and can get jobs outside because of a variety of skills learned in the Orchard. There is counselling in the orchard. No fighting is allowed. No drugs are brought in . No alcohol use is accepted.
