CITY OF ANGELS ghosts, the red lady, cameos and beautiful contradictions. LACMA: Celebrating My ’90s Rock Photographs in a sprawling Brutalist empire of art, hosted my conversation with fellow Celtic warrior goddess Shirley Manson. After crashing the museum’s ticketing site by selling out so quickly to passionate Angelenos, our one-hour conversation barely scratched the surface of the epic themes we explored: Analog Humans, Women of All Times, Gen X, Photography, and our band’s places in the glory and mess of it all… I want more. I want to go deeper with her, in honor of our collective memory, to infuse some light into this wild, unknown future being built around us (and the atrocious human behavior we are currently witnessing across the globe)… UNPLANNED CAMEO by NUMBER 1 Warrior Goddess Courtney Love (that’s right, I call you that, and you can kiss and tease my witchy Stevie Nicks ass my friend ha ha!) - on behalf of the global world, we apologize for how you were treated and we are all in agreement that “we all owe you and you are so beloved and so respected by anyone who fucking matters!” Amen X Los Angeles! You came out for us! Eternally grateful that, my wild, defining, coming into womanhood, chapter in your lights and hills, still connects me so deeply to you all. Thank you for coming out, supporting and WAITING IN THAT BOOK SIGNING LINE?!! Patience is a virtue. It has paid off for me ten folds, three decades later, thanks for waiting with me. xMx P.S. The Sunset Tower ghosts travelled through me during that visit, whispered notions of “pulse of desire is connected to the pain of death” do what you will, put that in your pipe and smoke it for those of you who listen to the voices on the other side ….!!!!
