A young woman who had been chasing her dream of becoming a pilot since childhood has been identified by her family as one of nine people killed in Sunday’s devastating plane crash in Palm Beach County, Florida. 💔

Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, earned her pilot’s license at just 17 years old while still attending high school. She had reportedly logged more than 1,300 flight hours and was working as a commercial pilot.

On November 1, Nathalia was serving as co-pilot aboard a private Learjet traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when the aircraft suddenly began losing altitude and crashed near a residential neighborhood, erupting into flames.
All nine people aboard lost their lives.

In the moments before the crash, the flight crew reported turbulence and ice buildup before issuing a desperate emergency call. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the aircraft to go down.

Nathalia’s family remembered her passion for aviation and how proud she was to have accomplished so much at such a young age.

Prayers to all nine families affected by this tragedy. 🕊️

Merci, @tournoi_international_combs , for an unforgettable first international experience! 🇫🇷🫶🏼

This meet was so different from anything I’ve ever experienced, and I’m leaving with so many lessons and memories. Confiance, persévérance et force. Confidence, perseverance, and strength — three things this experience taught me in ways I’ll never forget ✨

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined winning the all-around title among so many incredible gymnasts from around the world. I am truly honored, and getting to do it while representing @usagym made it even more special. 🇺🇸

Special thank you to @bettyokino, Emily, and the entire USAG staff for all the support, guidance, and fun throughout this week. Team USA is something truly special, and I am so honored to be a part of it! ❤️🤍💙

To my coaches, @meliaoqv and @daniellea528, thank you for always standing by my side, believing in me, and guiding me through this journey. I’m so happy we got to experience this together 💞

This is an experience I will carry with me forever 🇫🇷🥖✨

Merci, Combs-la-Ville! What a blast!

GO TEAM USA! 🇺🇸

Those little leggies 😭 Dolly tried to climb onto the couch at the vet lol She didn’t quite make it, but lifting all that body was such a big deal, she held it for a good 10 seconds.

She was 13.36 kg (29.5 lb) at the shelter, 12.44 kg (27.4 lb) at her last vet visit and 11.5 kg (25.4 lb) today. That’s 1.86 kg (4.1 lb) gone 🙌

She also had her neck lump sampled today and the vet is confident it’s a cyst! Never been so happy to see thick gunk come out of a needle and onto a slide 🤢 We’re monitoring for now. It may eventually come to the surface and open, but it isn’t bothering her. Just offending us 🤪

Best vet visit ever for our Dolly girl. She’s doing the damn thing 💪

Gold Crash🔥
