It’s almost time for a once-in-a-century exhibition to open to the public at the MFAH.
For the first time in nearly 50 years, this extraordinary collection of Winslow Homer watercolors comes out of storage and into the spotlight. "Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston" presents more than 45 watercolors alongside a selection of oils, drawings, and prints, tracing the artist's remarkable evolution from early works to his final canvas.
Travel through the landscapes that inspired Homer, from the rugged coast of Maine and the Adirondack Mountains to the English seaside and the sunlit Caribbean. His luminous watercolors capture not only what these places looked like, but what it felt like to stand within them.
This exhibition is a rare opportunity to experience one of America's greatest artists through works seldom seen by the public.
