What does it take to build stronger early childhood development (ECD) systems for every child?
From 20–22 October, the 2026 Asia-Pacific Regional Learning Forum on ECD brought together government representatives, practitioners and development partners in Jakarta to exchange ideas and explore collective action towards the ECD systems in Asia-Pacific.
Hosted by ARNEC in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Government of Indonesia, Tanoto Foundation, SEAMEO-CECCEP and the National Coalition for HI-ECD.
Discussions also explored the opportunities and risks of AI and digital technology in the early years, reinforcing the need for collaborative, evidence-informed approaches that put young children’s wellbeing at the centre.
As the forum concludes, the shared commitment continues: turning knowledge into action to help every young child across Asia-Pacific grow, learn and thrive.
