As Autism parents, we have to spread awareness, celebrate the sometimes smallest of WINS and constantly be ready for battle. Our Alex turns 1️⃣7️⃣next month and today he had to have his very first cavities filled. As many may know, this can be impossible for those with Autism, and we have been nervous about this for a long time and have weighed out several options. We have been going to
@cal_kidds since we started his dental journey and it has taken years of practice, modeling, patience and tears to get him to where he is at.
Today was a culmination of all those efforts and our guy handled it like a BOSS. We give all the Glory to God and to our special friends at @cal_kidds . Dr. Evans and two of his lovely hygienists were so loving and compassionate to Alex, and to us. They worked so calmly and efficiently and got the job done quickly and beautifully. We cannot recommend them enough!! Dental work and extra medical procedures can be so stressful for families like ours with profound Autism and they made it so much easier and showed so much tenderness.
Today we are reminded that our Alex can do very hard things and with God we can do all things thru He who gives us strength💙💙💙🧩🧩🙏🙏💪💪
