Ohioans aren’t facing a housing crisis. They’re facing a crisis of capitalism.

A new report shows that Ohioans have to work 87 hours a week to afford a 2-bedroom apartment on minimum wage. We know this isn’t a resource issue; it’s a capitalism issue. Under a socialist system, working people would have the power to ensure everyone has what they need: a roof over their head, clothes on their back, care for their children, and food on the table. Housing and other necessities should be a right, not something work your entire life to hold onto.

Meanwhile people on SSI (and most SSDI recipients) are expected to live off of what amounts to $6-$7 an hour for a 40 hr week. Its impossible.
