Studio visit yesterday with Rodrigo Ormachea @rormache a little up the coast in Ventura, CA to see the beauty, variety, and skill of his recent ceramic sculptures. So impressed to see how he has translated his expertise as a jewelry maker, former pastry chef, and training in landscape architecture to join complex forms with exquisitely colored surfaces. His experience fitting stones into metal not only results in deftly engineered large stacked monoliths but also interesting material collisions of clay, wood, and even silver and gold. Looking forward to his debut solo show at Alto Beta in the spring of 2027.
