Sixteen years ago, writer and artist Jo was living in Miami when, just after a hurricane, she heard a tiny meow coming from the bushes outside her apartment. There was Kimbo, a little ball of fluff with one wonky eye. It was love at first sight, and the beginning of 16 years together.

Kimbo was the kind of cat who wanted to be part of everything. He greeted Jo at the door, followed her from room to room, and insisted on sleeping as close to her as possible.

When Kimbo passed away last year, Jo lost a companion who had been part of her every day for nearly two decades. As a lifelong writer who believes the best way to preserve memories is to write them down, Jo knows the importance of holding onto the stories that matter most. And Kimbo’s is one she’ll never forget.

Having always wanted a signet ring, Jo found a way to make the piece even more personal.
