Ar15, full size 9mm smith or Glock, 12 gauge fullsize shotgun. You can deal with literally every situation with those. Maybe a suppressed 22 rifle as well.

I'ma be that guy.. 22lr Rifle of SOME variety. A Henry, a Ruger, SOMETHING. The ammo is light and abundant. Don't sleep on that as a short range "do all" that isn't incredibly loud. Yes, have your bigger something or other. Yes, have your reliable M&P or Glock. 45, 9mm, 380, whatever. But the 22lr? It'll keep you fed.

One gun for attackers one for food plus a side arm 5.56 AR platform, 22lr, 9mm/45acp or just have a full collection with plenty of ammo… arguably 22lr for most people east of the Rockies with 3-5k rounds would be more than enough might not stop someone in their tracks but I know I don’t wanna take any rounds from one
