REAL STORIES FROM REAL VOTERS: ANGIE NIXON | STORY 1 🎥
🤔 What happens when you’re intimidated for simply showing up at YOUR state Capitol? You call someone who reminds you that this is the PEOPLE’S house! ✊🏽
When I was Policy Director for CAIR-Florida, Florida’s Attorney General issued a public warning about our presence at the Capitol. We had kids with us, and we didn’t know what to expect.
So we called Angie Nixon. Her response?
💬 “Don’t you let those bullies intimidate you! Don’t you turn around. This is the people’s house, and you have every right to be here.”
And we kept going! 💪 We arrived safely and met with more than 60 representatives and their staff, Republicans and Democrats alike.
As a mother, I know how seriously we take the safety of our children. But I also know we can’t let intimidation stop us from standing up for what’s right.
❤️ This is my story of Angie Nixon—and why I believe leadership means standing up for EVERYONE.
