I’m turning 60 next month, and I keep thinking about the woman I was at 50.

There was so much she couldn’t have known. The loss she would learn to live with. The friendships, the work, the places she would see. The joy she would feel again.

I wish I could tell her: you don’t have to have the next ten years figured out. Just leave room for things to surprise you.

Today I’m in Paris with my daughter, doing work I love, still discovering what I’m capable of.

Still curious. Still becoming.
